Pastor (Minister) Our minister is Gavin Walter. Gavin is married to Jo and has two adult children. He enjoys spending time with family and friends over a meal and a glass of beer. Interests include reading, walking (strolling really) and watching sport. Adrian
Deacon, Secretary Adrian is a deacon and Church Secretary. He grew up at Garland Street Baptist Church and was baptised at the Church at 18. He has served as a deacon on and off for over 25 years and has previously served as Treasurer. Adrian is Captain of our Boys’ Brigade Company, and is a vice president of the East Anglia District. In his day job, Adrian is a partner in a local law firm. Adrian
Deacon, Homegroups Adrian became a Christian at University in 1983. He is an environmental chemist and is married to Helene. Currently the Church Treasurer, he also teaches in Bible Class (12-18 yrs.). He likes to read whenever possible and is fond of cricket. |
Claire
Deacon, Environment, Prayer Claire is one of our deacons who enjoys walking, the cinema, watching good football and spending time with family and friends, but not necessarily in that order. Amongst her various areas of serving God within our fellowship, Claire is helping GSBC to become more environmentally aware. Helene
Deacon, Prayer, Youth on Sunday Helene is a retired teacher. She is married to Adrian, has two married children and four grandchildren. She loves her family and close friends. Her hobbies include art, craft, baking, visiting National Trust properties, pantos, leisurely strolls, the seaside, and scenic places. Jane
Deacon, Renew Wellbeing Cafe, Home For Good Jane is a Deacon, runs the Renew Wellbeing Cafe and is the church contact for Home For Good. She is also on the church’s Safeguarding Team and is a Safeguarding trainer for the Eastern Baptist Association. Jane enjoys gardening, reading, ambling, the arts, live music, and theatre. |
Daniel
Families and Young Adults Worker. Daniel is the youngest of four and originally from North London. He is working at the church as our Families and Young Adults Worker. This includes working with Young Adults (20s-30s), Families and Younger (Toddlers, Children, and Teens), and looking at how we as a church can reach out to those areas while also engaging and developing our relationships with those age groups we already have connections with. Daniel enjoys writing, gaming, movies, cooking and baking, and exploring new places. Thomas
Deacon, Music & Technology Thomas enjoys spending time playing and writing music, he leads worship in our morning services. He also enjoys going for walks, spending time outside and exploring new places. In his day job he works for an engineering consultancy. |
