 We really value our social time together and have a range of regular social activities
throughout the week.

ARISE
​(2nd and 4th Fridays)
Arise is our FREE youth group. We meet on the 2nd and 4th fridays, we have 2 age groups;
Juniors (Ages 5 - 11years) - 6:30pm - 7:30pm
Youth (Ages 12 - 18 years) - 7:30pm - 8:30pm
We are a non uniform group, taking Part in many activities and trips including crafts, cooking, games, visits, teaching, snacks, socials and more!

CARPET BOWLS
(Mondays)

Join us for a fun evening playing carpet bowls - not sticking too strictly to the rules!  We meet on Monday evenings from 7.00 to 9.00pm in The Elven Centre.  New recruits are always welcome.  We have a break in the middle for tea, biscuits and a chat.

FRIENDSHIP CLUB
(Tuesdays)
This is a time for over-55s to get together and enjoy a varied programme of talks, music, quizzes and activities. We meet on the first and third Tuesdays of the month from 2.00pm in The Church Lounge. Come along and see what it's all about. We'd love to meet you!

C.A.M.E.O.
(Tuesdays)

C.A.M.E.O. (Come And Meet Each Other) - A time to take part in a craft or hobby while enjoying a chat and a cuppa. ​We meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 2.00 pm in The Church Lounge.

TABLE TENNIS
(Wednesdays)
Come along and have a game of table tennis in a friendly environment, a cuppa, kit-kat and a chat is also available.  We meet every Wednesday from 10.00 am to 12 noon in The Elven Centre.

PRAYER GROUP
(Thursdays)

We meet for prayer on the 1st Thursday of the month from 2:30pm to 3:30pm in The Church Lounge. This is an opportunity to pray for each other, Garland Street Baptist Church and the wider church as well as any worldwide, national and local news and events. We also pray for any friends we may have
who work as missionaries.

ALPHA
(Thursdays)

A free 10 week course with a shared meal provided each week. This is a chance to discuss Christianity in a relaxed non-judgemental atmosphere. For more information about Alpha and when our next course is check out our 'Alpha' page.

MARCHING BAND  
Bury St Edmunds Steadfast Band
(Thursdays 1st and 3rd)
Originally part of The Boys' Brigade our Steadfast band's routes date back to the 1920s. We are a traditional style, trumpet, drum and bell lyre marching band, although we welcome new Instruments too!  We are open to everyone and enjoy having fun together making music, we are quite informal on our practice nights. We currently perform in public a handful of times a year.

WORSHIP TEAM
Thursdays (2nd and 4th) 
The worship team meet from 7pm some Thursday evenings to practice songs, try new songs and socialise as a team. We regularly introduce new songs and bring back old songs during our times of worship.
Please speak to the worship leader before attending as we don't meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday

HOME GROUPS
(Various Days)
Home Groups are an amazing opportunity outside of Sunday morning for us to have time of prayer, a Bible study and fellowship together.

We currently have four Home groups that meet during the week either at the church, a church members' home or on Zoom. We are also setting up a new home group for people in their 20s and 30s.

11:00am - (Refreshments from 10:30am)
Relaxed informal service with 
worship, relevant talk for our lives today
and a time for corporate, joint and private prayer.
​6:00pm - A reflective service, including
bible readings, hymns and prayer. Hymns are accompanied by the church organ.
